The composer and pianist Pierre Anckaert (°1980) studied piano at the Royal Conservatory of Brussels. During a stay in Havana, Cuba, in 2003, he specializes into afro-cuban music.

In November 2009, Pierre Anckaert releases  his second album ‘Strings Attached’ on Prova Records. Strings Attached offers an intriguing mix of jazz, classical music and latin influences. On this album Anckaert adds the brussels chamber orchestra to his basic quintet, which helps creating a warm and almost cinematographic atmosphere.  The album is characterized by subtle harmonizations and surprising modulations, inventive and virtuoso improvisations, a variety of atmospheres and terrific grooves.
